Quality Assurance, Fabrication Inspector

Responsibilities and Duties

• Travel to supplier sites to ensure fabricated materials are conforming to drawings, specifications and applicable codes. Travel is mostly in-state, but out of state travel may be required.
• Performs supplier evaluations and reports findings to Management for review.
• Assist Guild production by inspecting materials received, work in process and finished products using conventional inspection instruments to ensure conformance with work orders and engineering drawings.
• Must maintain inspection process and documentation in compliance with company standards.
• Evaluate data and inspection reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Performs visual inspection of welds on fabricated products.
• Identify and remedy drawing discrepancies with detailers.
• Perform duties in accordance with Guild’s Quality Management System

Experience and Job Requirements

• Ability to travel to supplier locations to perform visual and dimensional inspections
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in production / fabrication environment as either an inspector or fabricator
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings
• Have and maintain valid drivers license
• Experience with MS Office, Excel, and Word
• Experience with code documentation: D.1.1 Structural Steel, B31.3 Process Piping, ASME Section VIII Pressure Vessels - (Required)
• Applicants having Welding/Fabrication experience and/or Weld Inspection Certification will be considered
• AWS CWI D1.1 or B31.3 (Desired)
