THE ROLE

Invictus Academy is an independent public charter school located in El Cerrito and we are seeking a Program Specialist to join our team who believes deeply that the mission, model, and values at Invictus are driving improved educational outcomes for students. 


The Program Specialist plays an invaluable role in supporting students with diverse learning needs in a full inclusion setting. You will collaborate closely and co-teach with core content teachers to ensure that course work is accessible for students, develop small group lessons to help build students foundational skills, track student progress, and collaborate on students’ IEP teams. The Program Specialist plays an integral role in the MTSS, IEP, and SST process for students. We are seeking a candidate who brings passion, creativity, experience building relationships, and will take initiative to help grow our school. We are looking for a candidate who is highly reliable, can balance many responsibilities and is willing to go above and beyond to support students.



RESPONSIBILITIES

The quality of our school is defined by the quality of our team. In that spirit, we are seeking exceptional individuals to execute the following “essential job duties” and responsibilities:

Student Supports and Intervention

  • Plan, lead, and coordinate Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes 
  • Lead Student Support Team (SST) meetings and monitor and track progress
  • Lead Coordination of Services Team (COST) meetings
  • Coordinate services for students with IEPs, 504s, and English Learners 
  • Support English Language Proficiency Assessment (ELPAC) testing
  • Support Director of Student Supports in Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPA) reporting requirements, CALPADS reporting
  • Support Middle and High School scheduling
  • Other duties as assigned

Instructional Duties:

  • Scaffold and differentiate lessons to support students towards independent mastery of content 
  • Communicate regularly with parents, striving for a ratio of three positive communications for each corrective one
  • Schedule and facilitate IEP meetings
  • Develop and coordinate an annual schedule of IEPs and 504s
  • Draft IEPs and 504s and ensure compliance with all components of the IEP and 504 Plan.
  • Ensure that all service minutes are provided and appropriately documented through meticulous special education records
  • Monitor progress toward IEP and 504 Plan goals and provide parents with quarterly progress reports
  • Facilitate the evaluation/reevaluation process
  • Develop and administer a variety of formal and informal assessments to measure student growth and mastery and to improve instruction
  • Implement, monitor, and sustain school-wide systems and expectations
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and District Special Education laws and regulations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • You possess a Clear California Special Education Teaching Credential and/or a California Pupil Personnel Services Credential.
  • You have a deep knowledge and experience working with students who have IEPs and 504 plans.
  • You have knowledge of California A-G requirements.
  • You believe that academic rigor and joy are not only compatible, but are key to driving outcomes for students.
  • You believe that strong routines and consistency is essential to creating a safe learning environment.
  • You have experience leading effective classrooms that result in strong academic outcomes for students.
  • You have experience monitoring and analyzing data to inform instruction.
  • You are an excellent written and oral communicator. 
  • You are professional, warm and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues. 


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Our ideal candidate has at least three years of teaching experience.
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is on-site. The employee must have sufficient mobility to report to campus, work in an office, and engage with students and families, with or without reasonable accommodations.
