We are seeking an outstanding individual to join our sales team for a Territory Manager for the Morgan City, LA area. To be a successful candidate you must have a strong knowledge of both freshwater, saltwater, and shooting sports and must reside in the greater Morgan City, LA area to maximize customer contact and be efficient. Job purpose

The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving individual and company sales goals. You must be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, both in person and telemarketing, working with cross-functional teams, contacting new leads, qualifying prospective customers, and closing sales. Customer base will comprise of independent dealers and Walmart. Top candidates will have experience in both the Fresh and Saltwater Fishing and Hunting industry at either the retail or wholesale level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with assigned Customer base.
  • Promote company programs and agendas.
  • Drive Big Rock’s Owned Brands as a manufacturer rep.
  • Manage the Customer’s needs (shipping, pricing, returns, etc.).
  • First to market with new SKU’s, vendors, etc.
  • Writing and submitting orders.
  • Presenting endcaps, promotions, flyers, etc.
  • Promote closeouts and opportunity buys to Customer.
  • Create a Business Plan to gain Market Share from Competition.
  • Visit all dealers at least once a month.
  • Working Customer events.
  • Work closely with the Big Rock Sports Merchant Team to maximize assortments.
  • Work closely with Big Rock Sports Demand Planners to maximize inventory levels.
  • Forecast key SKUs for seasonal fisheries and hunting seasons in your territory.
  • Work with Customer and our Credit Department to ensure on time payment.
  • Actively pursue new accounts and expand the territory.

Qualifications

  • Capable of forming solutions with customers in all situations.
  • In depth knowledge of and passion for the fishing and hunting categories, as well as extensive familiarity with the area’s fisheries and seasons.
  • Proficient in MS Office, email, learning new software applications, and leveraging technology to drive the business.
  • Strong customer focus, high energy, a professional demeanor, integrity, and a high degree of flexibility, and responsiveness.
  • Excellent internal and external relationship-building skills, coupled with an ability to adapt and optimize communication style, as necessary to achieve desired results.
  • A self-motivated and self-directed personality with a strong team orientation, who can succeed working independently in the field.
  • Business savvy, creativity, and the ability to sell, influence and negotiate in a professional manner.
  • Valid Driver’s License, insurance, and reliable vehicle required.
  • Willingness and ability to sustain a daily travel schedule to effectively manage the territory with periodic overnights as required.
  • Strong attention to detail including accurate data entry and mathematical computation skills.

Compensation:

100% Commission Based

Monthly Expense reimbursement allowance

Education/Experience:

  • High school or equivalent secondary education diploma (Associates Degree preferred).
  • Two years recent Retail/Wholesale sales/management experience
