Job description summary:

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled wire harness assembler. This person will assemble all electrical cable harnesses per engineering specifications and perform required electrical testing. The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines, and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential, requiring patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time. The job environment is stable and based on well-defined processes. Job knowledge and competency is built through structured step-by-step training and positive, supportive coaching from management and peers. Consistent, error free work based on defined regulations and standards are key measures of job performance success. This position is designed to develop a valued technical expert, who, recognized and supported by management, can deliver quality work on a consistent basis.

Essential duties & responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Assemble a variety of wiring harnesses
  • Perform required electrical testing of wiring harnesses and other specified components (control modules, solenoids, etc.)
  • Capable of using a variety of hand tools required for wire harness assembly, including crimping
  • Capable of reading and adjusting test equipment required for monitoring each assembled unit
  • Able to troubleshoot failures of assemblies and testing equipment
  • Able to read electrical drawings for assembly
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Experience & skills:

  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Able to read and interpret written instructions
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Must be familiar with crimp and termination techniques of wires to connectors
  • Experience with military/aerospace standards is a plus
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed
  • Flexibility to effectively adapt to changing conditions and job assignments
