Job Description

The Manager of Gas Station Operations assists the Director in overseeing the operations of the travel centers and QSR outlets to include Subway, Starbucks, Pit Stop Pizza, Pitabuilt, Pony Express Pizza and Primm Valley Pizza ensuring successful and efficient operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a good working relationship with the QSR Franchise Representatives from our Fills in during the absence of the Director of Gas Station Operations as the point person.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with the Chevron and Flying J Pilot Representatives from our Region. Fills in during the absence of the Director of Gas Station Operations as the point person.
  • Ensures compliance with all Brands to include Chevron, Flying J, Starbucks, Subway, and any additions.
  • Keeps current on all certifications for the aforementioned Brands
  • Oversee the Travel Center and QSR outlet employees
  • Provides leadership for the department’s Human Resources responsibilities to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes.
  • Use provided tools to assess and improve department’s performance
  • Ensure local, state, and federal regulatory compliance to include diesel transactions, permitting and proper functionality of truck scale.
  • Ensures all Gas Pumps are working properly each day
  • Understands and corrects all Alarm related issues
  • Ensure all Audit Exceptions are addressed timely and accurately
  • Prepares and submits the required daily, weekly and monthly report
  • Manage the recruiting function for the department to include interviewing, hiring, onboarding and scheduling training of all new hires to include C certification.
  • Maintain employee scheduling
  • Supervise staff and responsible for store operations during shift
  • Use provided tools to assess and improve each site’s performance
  • Take measures to preserve the safety of employees and all others in the work location
  • Make timely money drops and maintain cash drawer at or below maximum
  • Accepts, verify and document store
  • Perform the duties of the department as the need

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be detailed oriented, able to analyze information and able to work independently in a changing environment.
  • Must possess skills in areas of computer operation, planning, directing, communication and time management.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Must be able to carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Must possess ability to hire and train employees; planning, assigning, scheduling work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Must possess strong leadership and analytical skills.
  • Requires excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must demonstrate self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm.
  • Must be able to work varied times and varied days off depending on job demand.
  • Physical demands required the ability to regularly sit, stand and walk for various lengths of time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of Quick Service Restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of high volume customer service and cash handling skills required, preferably in a similar environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience required, preferably in a high volume fuel station or travel center or fast paced guest service environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • A, B, C Gas Station Operation Certificates, Chevron and Flying J Certification
  • Franchise Certifications – i.e. Starbucks Five Levels of Certifications and Subway University Quarterly Training
  • Clark County Health Card
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification
  • Driver License

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate in English. Spanish is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must have Microsoft Office experience, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and basic computer skills.
