Company Details: Heart of Ohio Family Health is a non-profit organization that operates the following six Federally Qualified Health Centers located in Franklin County, Ohio: Heart of Ohio Family Health at Capital Park, Heart of Ohio Family Health at Canal Winchester, Heart of Ohio Family Health at Mount Carmel East, Heart of Ohio Family Health at St. Ann’s, Heart of Ohio Family Health - James B. Feibel Center, and Heart of Ohio Family Health at Whitehall-Yearling (a school-based site). Summary: This position supports the organization by establishing and maintaining an outpatient obstetrics and gynecology practice which includes evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and monitoring medical problems and documenting in an electronic medical record. The position requires collaboration and supervision of medical care provided by certified nurse practitioners and intake nurses. Participates in quality improvement processes and follows organizational protocols.

Supervises: No (clinical supervision/collaboration only)

Dress Requirement: White provider coat over scrubs or business casual in accordance to Heart of Ohio Family Health’s dress code policy

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday during standard business hours

Times are subject to change due to business necessity

Job Duties, these are considered essential to the successful performance of this position:

ü Treats patients for obstetrics and gynecology in an outpatient setting.

ü Performs procedures such as endometrial biopsies, colposcopies, dating ultrasounds, and IUD and Nexplanon insertion/removal.

ü Works as an integral part of the team providing care in accordance with Heart of Ohio Family Health’s mission.

ü Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings.

ü Participates in the recruitment and retention of medical providers and other professional staff

ü Participates in the development and review of clinical protocols

ü Participates in quality improvement processes and follows organizational protocols. Suggests new quality improvement ideas.

ü Communicates with the CEO on any issue impacting Centers

ü Supervises clinical work of nurse practitioners, intake nurses, and medical assistants.

ü Participates in continuing education programs and activities

ü Collaborates with all multidisciplinary team members in the provision of healthcare to the patients

ü Participates in professional development activities to keep current with trends and best practices in health care administration

ü Performs duties in accordance with community, professional and legal standards

ü Provides culturally sensitive professional care for all patients registered to be seen at Centers

ü Adheres to all correct coding requirements set forth by Medicaid and Medicare

ü Adhere to all of the Organization’s policies and procedures, especially the hazardous, health and safety procedures

ü Other duties as assigned (non-essential)

Job Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

ü Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Ohio

ü Licensed in customary narcotics and controlled substances prescriptions

ü Board eligible or certified by an applicable nationally recognized board

ü Free of all suspension, sanctions, reprimands or discipline by any licensing board, state, local society, or managed care organization

ü Free of malpractice action or allegations of malpractice whereby a settlement payment to a plaintiff of an aggregate of more than $100,000

ü Ability to participate as a physician in federal care programs; ie, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.

ü Knowledge of medical care laws and regulations and standard care guidelines

ü Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner

ü Ability to work in conjunction with other employees and business associates

ü Ability to maintain an established work schedule to ensure dependability, accuracy of work quality, and a harmonious, consistent work environment

Facility Environment
:

Heart of Ohio Family Health operates in multiple locations. All facilities are a medical office environment with front-desk reception area, separate patient examination rooms, nursing stations, pharmacy stock room, business offices, hallways and private toilet facilities. All facilities are on the main ground floor and ADA compliant.

This position’s primary work area is patient examination rooms and office.

The patient examination rooms and office area is:

  • kept at a normal working temperature
  • sanitized daily
  • maintains standard office environment furniture with adjustable chairs
  • maintains standard office equipment; i.e., computer, copier, fax machine, etc. at a normal working height
