Job Summary:

The Community Relations Specialist assists with all aspects of the community on behalf of Highline including special events, sponsorships, and township meetings. Candidates also must be able to provide information about products and services, handle customer inquiries, and de-escalate complaints with professionalism.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain relationships with members of the community.

• Assist with development and implementation of sales and marketing.

• Manage sales program, develop a lead base, conduct sales presentations, and close qualifies leads.

• Organize community outreach programs and coordinates special events that will influence public opinion or promote products, services, or ideas of the company.

• Partner with the Marketing Department to coordinate the use of social media to enhance community relations.

• Draft and distribute (with approval) various content pieces that promote the company, as well as individuals or groups within the company.

• Select positive publicity materials and distributes them through a variety of channels.

• Respond to inquiries from community members and other interested parties; when needed, recruit a knowledgeable spokesperson or information source to assist.

• Plan, coordinate, and execute special events and press conferences.

• Business travel required as necessary.

• Other duties as assigned

Competencies:

• High school diploma (college degree is a plus)

• Marketing experience a plus

• Must be a motivated, self-starter who is willing to work within a fast-paced team but also independently taking initiative to be successful in this role.

• Must have the ability to speak in front of large crowds with ease.

• Be an out-of-the-box thinker and have big ideas within a team setting that can be used to establish new community-oriented programs and events.

• Good computer skills. Knowledge of common office applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.

• Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Fiber Broadband understanding is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

• Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings (Drug and Background)
