Wellness Coach

POSITION SUMMARY

• Renders professional care to patients and clients of all ages within an assigned area pursuanr to the mission, goals, policy, and procedure of Coffee Regional Medical Center.

• Responsibilities are to maintain a clean and friendly work environment for the safety and wellbeing of the Wellness Center patrons, including scheduling appointments, computer and phone communications, and assisting patrons.

OVERVIEW

• The evaluation is to assure individual performance, departmental goals and organizational goals are aligned. It is designed to support communication between the manager and the employee. Employee perception of their own performance is very important. To maximize the benefit of this process, both the manager and the employee participate in the evaluation process.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Reads and understands the English language.

• Ability to think critically and analytically with little or no supervision.

• Ability to maintain attendance to meet standard job practices.

B. Education

• High School diploma or GED

C. Licensure

• BCLS, AED, First Aid completion within 45 days of employment

D. Experience

• One year in a Wellness Center Preferred

E. Interpersonal skills

F. Essential technical/motor skills

G. Essential physical requirements

• Medium: Exert 20 – 50 lb. of force occasionally and/or up to 15 lb. of force frequently - greater than 75%

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

• Below are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the position’s purpose and objectives. These are critical or fundamental to the performance of the position. They are the major functions for which the person in the position is held accountable. Following are the essential functions of the position, along with the corresponding performance standards.

o General Responsibilities

 Communicates appropriately and clearly to supervisor, co-workers, and physicians.

 Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.

 Open and close facility as required.

 Basic computer and telephone skills.

 Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.

 Attends at least 75% of staff meetings annually.

 Completes annual educational requirements prior to evaluation date.

 Limits personal phone calls and visits to emergency.

 Collaborates and communicates with customers, physicians, nursing staff/management, visitors, measures by two (2) or less validates complaints in six (6) months.

 Promote, sell, and maintain memberships.

 Clean and maintain equipment as needed.

 Give tours.

 Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.

 Schedules exercise training sessions, Fitness Test and Fitness Orientations.

 Takes responsibility for identifying their own learning needs by suggesting, attending, and participating in needed topics for in-service programs.

 Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

 Clearly communicate both verbal and written with clients, patients, and staff.

 Utilizes resources effectively.

 Perform duties as required.

o Wellness Coach Responsibilities

 Provided minimal instructions and demonstrates proper exercise technique.

 Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
