We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Accounts Receivable Clerk II to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 610 E. Gish Rd. in San Jose and limited job-related travel may be required.


Position Summary:


GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Accounts Receivable Clerk II to provide support to one or more facilities. This role’s main function will be to undertake a variety of financial and non-financial tasks to help guarantee the company’s revenues.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Posting payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions from lock box and ACH deposits.
  • Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from accounting software, customer service departments, and from customers.
  • Resolves valid or invalid postings by entering adjusting entries.
  • Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line, coordinating contact with collections department.
  • Updating customer contact or payment information.
  • Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable accounts; verifying totals; preparing report.
  • Upload invoices into customers’ invoicing websites.
  • Processing credit card payments through customer secured channels.
  • Prepares check or credit card refunds.
  • Accomplishes accounting and other business tasks as needed.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of methods, practices, terminology, and procedures used in general accounting.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues quickly and escalate appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Software knowledge in the following is preferred: Tower/AMCS, Great Plains and Auto-Dialer

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience


Language Skill:

  • Proficiency in English and/or Spanish


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit at a computer for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to physically push, pull and lift objects up to 15 lbs.


Work Environment:

The available Accounts Receivable Clerk II position is a full-time nonexempt position. Standard work is Monday – Friday with office hours anywhere from 7 am-5 pm. This position is based at the GreenWaste corporate office and reports to Cristina Rivas.

This position may include driving to other facilities and employee will be provided access to a shared pool vehicle or reimbursed according to federal standards for mileage.
