The City of Cibolo is seeking a highly motivated Fleet Mechanic that provides maintenance and repair services on light, medium, and heavy trucks, construction equipment, automobiles, and similar equipment for the City of Cibolo with an enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to work until the job is successfully completed. In addition, the ideal candidate must maintain a working knowledge of a variety of top-of-the-line hand, power, and shop tools. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in the role, as are high levels of accuracy, timeliness, and dependability.

Our Type: As one of our Fleet Mechanics, you will represent the City of Cibolo within the Public Works Department. You will be expected to for servicing and repairing City vehicles in our shop. You will need to form collaborative relationships with the City of Cibolo departments and employees to ensure successful teamwork and rapport. Being reliable, knowledgeable, detail oriented and professional, you listen and respond to customer needs. You are diligent and empathetic, so our partners never feel "left out to dry" but rather you follow through and follow up with employees and vendors to ensure they are fully satisfied. When tense situations arise, you are not easily flustered, but are diplomatic and work hard to diffuse the situation and ensure all feel heard and their problems are resolved. At the end of the day, you get great satisfaction out of solving mechanical issues and ensuring our Public Works fleet is well maintained and readily deployable. If you can do those things and meet the following requirements, we would be happy to speak with you:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of vehicle maintenance experience.
  • The possession of or the ability to possess a valid Texas State Vehicle Inspector's license within six (6) months of hire date or as allowed by State regulations.
  • Completed TYMCO Sweeper Maintenance Training (or be able to obtain within twelve (12) months of employment.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with ability to obtain Class B CDL (with tanker and air brake endorsements) within 1 year from date of hire.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a favorable background check.
