Our Health Information Department consists of clerks and coders. This vital department is responsible for the records management for both inpatient and outpatient departments. They assist with the management of health information data including electronic and paper medical records. They work with patients and families directly at times as well.
The Technician is responsible for assisting with the management of health information data including electronic and paper medical records. This role helps to ensure that health information is accurate, accessible, secure and maintained in a protected manner. This role will also assist the HI Director by performing task-oriented projects and assisting other departments with HI related activities.

Education:
High school diploma or GED
RHIT preferred. Will consider enrollment in an AHIMA approved RHIT course plus 3+years of hospital medical records required.
Upon graduation of the course, obtain the RHIT credential within one year.
Experience:
3+ years working in a hospital medical records department required
Electronic Medical Records experience required
Clerical skills demonstrated and at least 2 years of office experience required
