POSITION SUMMARY:


The Clinical Supervisor oversees the day to day direct care activities of supervisees. He/she provides guidance to achieve the goals and objectives as outlined in the FSO Program Service Plan. The Clinical Supervisor is primarily responsible for the progress being made by supervisees in meeting the expected service delivery goals and outcomes.


The Clinical Supervisor ensures proper planning, appropriate staffing, effective and responsible utilization of FSOH resources in day to day operation. The Clinical Supervisor works closely with the Program Director regarding the financial viability of the operation.


The Clinical Supervisor upholds program and operational standards according to FSOH policies and service protocols. The Clinical Supervisor works with the leadership; program site director; quality assurance, performance improvement and compliance team to ensure conformity to applicable laws, rules and regulations.


The Clinical Supervisor stays knowledgeable of CARF, Ohio-MHAS, and Medicaid regulatory standards pertaining to FSOH operation.


The Clinical Supervisor works with internal and external key stakeholders under the guidance of the Site Program Director to get their input and measure how effective, efficient and successful FSOH’s service outcomes. The Clinical Supervisor obtains input regarding service needs, program-related issues, regulatory compliance matters, and information vital to FSOH’s overall operation, strategic planning and in developing new program services.

CORE RESPONSILITIES:


Ensures that the service operation and activities of supervisees comply with FSOH policies and procedures and applicable regulatory standards including CARF, Ohio-MHAS, and Medicaid. Serves as a member and an active participant of the Ohio Accreditation Team, Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement and Compliance Team.


The Clinical Supervisor provides direct clinical supervision of all supervisee’ activities. Reviews and signs-off on clinical documentations as required by law and regulations, and FSOH protocol. Performs clinical supervisory responsibilities as outlined in the FSOH Clinical Supervisor Plan. This include supervision documentations maintained in the supervision file.


The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for assigning caseload to supervisees and monitoring service delivery to ensure that the right level and intensity of care and service outcomes are achieved. Monitors supervisees compliance with job duties and responsibilities.


Ensures that FSOH services are tailored to advance client-centered, integrated, culturally competent, strength-based approach. FSOH services advance trauma-informed care and generally accepted evidence-based practice interventions.


Makes sure that services meet the standard of quality and delivered in an efficient and effective manner. This is accomplished through: (a) proper planning; (b) providing for employee-centered approach to training and development, (c) supervision style that provides a good balance that allow supervisees individual expressions while promoting a culture of consensus building and teamwork.


Works collaboratively with the Program Director in filling new or vacated positions under his/her area of responsibility. This includes recruitment, hiring, proper placement, training, and probationary status reviews. The Clinical Supervisor conducts the annual performance reviews and creates supervisee-centered, individualized professional development plan. Conducts exit interviews. All documentations are submitted to the Program Director for review and approval.


The Clinical Supervisor creates a culture that expects supervisees to be attentive to the skills necessary to do assigned tasks efficiently and effectively. A culture that expects employees to demonstrate responsibility and professionalism. The Clinical Supervisor nurtures staff to be his/her best. The Clinical Supervisor practices open-door policy.


Understands that all clinical decisions must comply with relevant laws and regulations. All supervisees operate within the parameters set in FSOH policies and procedures.


Conducts group supervision meeting once a month. This is used as a forum for training, reinforcing protocol changes and any corrective actions that must take place. This forum is also used to get supervisee input and complete employee surveys. The Clinical Supervisor maintains record of focus areas during the meeting. A copy will be maintained in individual supervision file.


Ensures that all “corrective action plans” for supervisees are implemented, monitored, reviewed, and working according to the corrective plan and conducted within the allotted time frame.


The Clinical Supervisor ensures that all supervisees receive: (a) face-to-face training and/or (b) video-audio training with a designated trainer available for any questions on all documentation, service protocols, policy changes, and other procedural matters vital to FSOH operation. The trainer and the clinical supervisor will ensure a working understanding of the new protocol. There will be reinforcement training as needed. Some protocols will be reinforced at least once a year as outlined in the training plan.


Makes sure that all supervisees participate in mandatory training. The Clinical Supervisor ensures that supervisees who missed mandatory training are rescheduled and appropriate arrangements are made to comply with those mandatory trainings.


Consults with referral sources and community organizations in identifying the need for and in developing new program services in behavioral health as guided by the Program Director. All program services must meet CARF, Ohio-MHAS, and reimbursement sources guidelines. All program services must be approved by leadership and must demonstrate financial viability for Family Solutions of Ohio.


May be asked to assist the Program Director in conducting referral sources survey and any input from the persons served. Surveys are conducted on a quarterly basis.


Conducts intake, including Assessment and Diagnosis & Treatment Planning on a weekly basis to meet the needs.


Ensures that appropriate forms for required pre-authorization by reimbursement body are completed on a timely basis (e.g. Permedion forms).


Directly responsible for the overall productivity and outcomes of services of the site(s) assigned.


Ensures that all supervisees utilize generally accepted interventions that are researched/evidence-based or best practice models and permissible under the CMS guidelines. Staff uses only modalities approved by FSOH.


Ensures that FSOH responds to referral sources in a timely, responsive way.


Assists the Program Director in monitoring FSOH division website daily for changes and updates. Updates the Program Director and as applicable the corporate office and supervisees of any relevant information.


Conducts himself/herself at high standard of professionalism and abides by FSOH Code of Conduct of Ethical Behavior.

DOCUMENTATION:


Makes sure that all reports required of Clinical Supervisors are completed and submitted on a timely basis. Copies are maintained appropriately, if applicable, as required by laws and regulations. Monthly reports are reviewed by the Program Director prior to submission to the corporate office by the 5th business day of every month.


The Clinical Supervisor directly supervises and monitors compliance of all supervisees regarding required documentations including timelines and maintenance and protection of confidential information.


The Clinical Supervisor ensures that supervisees billing sheets, time sheets, calendar input and service documentations are completed according to FSOH protocol.


Reviews, provides direct clinical supervision and co-signs all clinical documentation of supervisees according to applicable laws and regulatory standards.


Provides direct supervision and monitoring of documentation entered in the electronic health records.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


Demonstrates positive service outcomes and overall satisfaction of key stakeholders.


Supervisees meet the productivity and quality service standards of FSOH.


Cooperates and supports FSOH’s quality and performance improvement activities and initiatives.


Works toward developing, fostering, and maintaining positive, proactive relations with other community service providers.


Support FSOH’s culture that honors individuality while promoting collaborative effort and teamwork.


Participates in employee surveys to promote cooperative, interactive, supportive, collective entrepreneurship.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Licensure: Licensed in the State of Ohio by the CSWMFT Board as an LISW, LPCC or IMFT or professionally licensed to provide clinical supervision of behavioral health services.


Education: The individual must be qualified by education and training to supervise the duties and responsibilities indicated above. A minimum of Master’s Degree required.


Certification: Able to participate in First Aid, CPR, Verbal/Physical De-escalation; and FSO required professional development trainings.


Other: Valid Ohio Driver’s License. Must pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks and employment drug screen. Maintain valid car insurance.
