QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to use multi-meter to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits.
  • Must be able to weld.
  • Must be able to wire a three phase motor.
  • Basic machining knowledge.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical break downs.
  • Must be able to properly check and identify bearing failures.
  • Must have basic working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Must have basic computer skills.

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in requisitioning maintenance supplies and maintaining maintenance records and files.
  • Perform mechanical repair tasks submitted on work orders by production or any other department that are approved by the Maintenance Supervisor with minimum supervision.
  • Install/modify equipment with minimum supervision from the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Plant Engineer.
  • Conducts safety/preventative maintenance inspections as instructed by Maintenance Supervisor and reports any deficiencies or problems to the Maintenance Supervisor or Shift Supervisor.
  • Conduct hazardous waste survey and complete inspection forms when instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Responsible for the daily management of facility hazardous and non-hazardous waste activity/ equipment when assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Plant Engineer.
  • Perform routine work with no supervision, such as chrome roll, rubber roll and extruder screen pack changes, die settings/cleaning, and bearing replacement.
  • Troubleshoots any malfunction on production equipment and facility equipment with minimum supervision.
  • You are responsible for insuring that all spills are cleaned up immediately in accordance with our Hazardous Waste Management Contingency plan.
  • This position indirectly affects the quality of the finished product in that many of the responsibilities of this position can influence the quality of the finished product. Management is committed to improving the quality of goods and services through the philosophy of “total quality management”.
  • Initiates ideas and develops proposals for improving quality of everything we do as measured by customers and for reducing costs, in order to make the Division more competitive in the marketplace.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Facilities/Maintenance Manager, Production Manager or Plant Manager.
