Maint Tech – General -354

This position is a farm maintenance position. Applicant must be willing to work in animal agriculture conditions.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform maintenance / plan preventative maintenance on systems related to egg production. Systems include feed, egg and manure conveying systems as well as ventilation systems, etc..
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems
• Order parts and keeping appropriate inventories of parts.
• Tracking maintenance items utilizing in-house computer management system
• Design and implement system improvements for feed, egg and manure conveying systems as well as ventilation systems, etc..

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience with mechanical systems. Mechanical systems include systems with Power source (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.), Speed reduction (Gear Box, Pulleys, Sprockets, etc.), conveyance (Auger, Belt, conveyor, etc.). Includes preventative and on-demand maintenance of bearings, shafts, structural items.
• Experience with Electrical Systems. Electrical systems include High power source power, Source control (motor starter, electrical drive, disconnect), Line connections to motor, control wiring as well as interpreting electrical diagrams
• Experience with control systems. Controls can be process specific controllers, PLC, PC based systems, or advanced hardwired control systems.
• Thorough knowledge and use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently.
• Adapt to quickly changing priorities.
• Ability to understand and follow all safety procedures.
• Intermediate to experienced user of Microsoft Office applications
• Clear and professional communication skills, verbal and written
• High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Effort/ Work Environment

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, turning, sitting and movement
• Lift up to 25 lbs.
