Maintenance Electrician-ME

General Description: The role of the Maintenance Electrician is to provide support to the Master Electrician with any electrical needs and to assist in maintenance of the mill equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently. The expectation is that the PM work orders are regularly completely in a timely manner. The daily activities of any maintenance person are subject to change due to needs of the company. This candidate must hold a current Maine State Electrical License classification of Journeyman or above.

Job Duties:
• Work weekends on short notice for repairs or special projects
• Assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools
• Trouble shoot and replace / repair defective parts
• Follow PM program per the instructions
o Complete PM work order as required
• Problem Solving
• Analyze information and evaluate to choose the best solution to solve problem
• Utilize man lift as needed according to Company specs

Physical Requirements:
• Bend, stretch, stoop, squat & twist multiple times daily
• Moderate to heavy wrist / hand repetitions
• Stand for long periods of time
• Reaching up and occasionally above shoulder
• Ability to push, pull or move 50 – 75lbs (50 -100’)
• Able to carry 40 – 60lbs upstairs
• No allergies to sawdust, particles in the air (respiratory concerns)
• Climb metal stairs several times a day
• Walk on uneven ground at times
• Ability to work in all weather conditions (below 0 temps to over 90º)

Miscellaneous Requirements:
Safety First
• Hard hat in designated areas of the Planer Mill
• Hard hat in all areas of the Sawmill and Log Yard – Solon Facility
• Hard hat in designated areas – Tamworth Facility
o Exception being – inside saw cabs, crane cabs, outside forklift machine cabs
• Steel Toed footwear required in all areas
• Gloves required in designated areas – per task in either mill
o Handling Saws – ALWAYS
• Hearing Protection required in all areas
o Exception being – inside cab of outside machine forklifts
• Eye Protection required in all areas
• Face Protection when necessary per task
• Florescent vests required for all outside activity
o All Outside Machine Operators - Florescent Green / Yellow
o All Outside Pedestrian activity – Florescent Orange
o Exception being – pedestrian travel from one building to another
• Report all near misses and unsafe acts
• Pedestrian awareness at all times in the area

Attendance
• Follow the KLC attendance policy per the handbook
• Time off request sheets

Radio communication & acknowledgment
• Use professionalism at all times
• Answer all calls in a timely manner

Overhead doors
• Never walk through any overhead door that is controlled remotely
• Always use access door next to overhead

• Participates as an active member of the team
• Flexibility in job requirements as the position expands
