We are looking for an Installation/Service Technician Apprentice to join our team!

Job Description:
This position will work in the field alongside an experienced technician(s) to learn the trade of an alarm installation/service technician. This position installs/services new and/or existing security and fire systems. The incumbent will prepare paperwork for the programming of new and/or existing security systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment.
- Complete and submit all service call related documents if assigned to the Service Department.
- Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.
- Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
- Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.
- Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, or cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, positioning and terminating cables, wires, or strapping.
- Keep an orderly vehicle and accurate inventory stock levels.
- Various projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Technical school training and/or certification is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of technician experience within the alarm and fire industry is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of field installation/service experience is preferred.
- Networking experience is a plus.
- Must have flexibility to travel, work overtime, and On-Call shifts as needed.
- Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Suite (intermediate Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Telecommunications - Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
- Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing that there is a problem.
- An acceptable driving and criminal history record.
Physical Requirements:
- Alarm technicians must be able to lift, carry, and use heavy equipment (such as ladders).
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or drive for long periods of time.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
