Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for (including but not limited to) ensuring proper operations and CALIBRATION of the On-stream analyzer (X-Ray) and Mill Shift Samples collection, preparation, and submission for assay analysis at the laboratory. Responsibilities also include ensuring PROPER and RELIABLE maintenance of the X-Ray analyzers. Also, may be instructed by Metallurgist on occasion some special sample collection such as surveys and field reagent readings, % solids readings and minor Metallurgical Laboratory work.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.
- Ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned (as necessary).
- Ensure proper operation and CALIBRATION of On-stream analyzer (OSA), accurately, reliably, and improved availability.
- Ensure that the OSA is well maintained and its sample delivery system (multiplexer, sampling pots, etc.) are working and all process streams connected are accurate and reliable.
- Ensure spare parts and consumable supplies of the OSA as well as X-ray Team’s safety supplies are properly documented and maintained. Reports these inventories to Metallurgist.
- Collect and prepare mill shift samples and calibration samples for the On-stream Analyzer.
- Prioritize workloads to ensure operational ability to quickly address deviations.
- Properly and safely apply methods and utilize various mill instrumentation such as Marcy Scale (% Solids), Field Reagent Readings (Graduated cylinder and stopwatch), pressure gauge readings, etc.
- Document and communicate effectively with team and concerned mill personnel any issues with the OSA as well as the process streams being monitored by the OSA.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge
- SAP experience.
- One year or more of experience in Mill Concentrator Operations.
- One year or more of experience in sampling and sample preparation would be ideal but not necessarily a requirement.
- Computer literate and minor programming/networking skills is a plus.
Key Competencies / Skills
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able and willing to work rotating shifts.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License.
- Able to speak, comprehend, read, and write English.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office and Mine, Concentrator and SXEW (as required).
