Special Education Teacher Needed In Gretna, LA

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Gretna, LA. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with diverse learning needs and a strong commitment to creating inclusive educational environments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Provide direct instruction to students in a variety of academic subjects
• Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique needs of each student
• Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student performance and progress

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Valid state teaching license with Special Education endorsement
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred
• Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
