You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software development, test execution, product management, and operations to ensure that software releases are executed smoothly and meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety.  Release Planning and Coordination:  Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define release scope, objectives, and timelines Develop comprehensive release plans, considering dependencies, risks, and resource allocation Coordinate release activities across multiple teams and departments to ensure alignment and smooth execution Release Process Management:  Define and implement standardized release processes related to Configuration management and change management  Establish and enforce release policies, guidelines, and quality gates to maintain consistency and reliability.  Monitor and track the progress of release activities, identifying and addressing bottlenecks or issues as they arise.  System Integration & Testing:  Work closely with V&V teams to develop test strategies and plans for each release Ensure thorough testing of components and systems to validate functionality, performance, and safety Facilitate communication and collaboration between development and test teams to address defects and ensure timely resolution Continuous Improvement:  Drive ongoing improvements to release management processes, tools, and methodologies Analyze release metrics and performance data to identify areas for optimization and efficiency gains  Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the release management team and across the organization What you'll need to succeed: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred Six or more years of proven experience in software release management for complex integrated systems involving hardware, firmware and software Extensive understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies related to configuration management Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and mitigate risks effectively Solid technical background with familiarity with software development tools, version control systems, and release automation frameworks (DOORS, Jama, Cameo experience preferred) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders Knowledge of quality assurance, verification and validation principles and methodologies, particularly in safety-critical environments Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to autonomous vehicles and automotive software development (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE) Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices in release management Bonus Points!  Experience in Automotive or self-driving industry Exposure to industry standard configuration management tools  Experience with automation of release notes and release artifacts Perks of Being a Full-time Torc’r  Torc cares about our team members and we strive to provide benefits and resources to support their health, work/life balance, and future.
