We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to support our Walmart account who will grow at our Bentonville, AR offices.

The BDM will be responsible for owning, developing and growing their assigned category. This person must be able to establish positive relationships and communication with key decision-makers and penetrate the account at the merchant (Buyer / Senior Buyer) level.

In this role you will:
  • Build, own & develop the relationship with the Walmart merchant teams
  • Drive for sales results on distribution of all Scotts products
  • Develop programs, promotional plans and in-store display plans that support both SMG and Walmart goals
  • Develop Walmart.com growth plans, tracking omnichannel performance and metrics such as pricing, promotional item performance, search status and reviews to identify opportunities
  • Work with internal key stakeholders such as Brand / Digital Marketing team members to coordinate updates and management of PDPs
  • Sell and recommend product orders to assure sufficient product to meet sales demand based on program plans; accurately forecast demand requirements for each category managed
  • Communicate regularly with Business Development Director /Lead, Walmart BDT, Brand Marketing, and, Walmart Buyers
  • Actively participate in Walmart meetings and events, as well as internal Scotts business planning meetings
  • Collaborate with other key internal Business Development Team associates (such as replenishment manager, shopper marketing manager and finance manager)
Desired Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5+ years successful sales experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Walmart culture, policies, and procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of retail activity such as developing and implementing account programs and merchandising plans
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop impactful presentations
  • Ability to analyze & interpret data
  • Experience with Retail Link, Luminate & Syndicated Data
  • Demonstrate ability to engage account at all levels required to maximize sales potential
  • Demonstrate ability to create, sell and implement plans that capitalize on unique market needs to drive growth
  • Ability to create a strategic business plan to address the specific requirements of each key account
  • Ability to travel overnight occasionally
The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $121,400.00 - $142,800.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
