Job Description
Responsibilities

In collaboration with the medical staff, Nursing Leaders, clinical colleagues, and Quality Management leadership, this role is a key leadership member who oversees the quality of care to achieve optimal clinical outcomes, specifically related to sepsis through project and program management.Responsible to oversee the quality and safety of patient care by assuring the use of evidence-based guidelines; identification of patient safety issues/concerns and assists with problem-solving to result in improvement of quantitative and qualitative clinical outcomes and patient experience. This role will build effective relationships with the interdisciplinary team and leadership to facilitate the integration of clinical quality indicators into the work environment and to actively promote a culture of patient safety, proactive risk management, and on-going regulatory readiness and compliance with standards of care.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leading process improvement initiatives at the facility through planned, systematic, and ongoing processes for monitoring, evaluating and improving the quality of care provided and ensuring care delivered adds value to the patient experience (best possible care/ outcomes at the lowest possible cost)
  • Utilizing quality assessment results to improve processes that affect patients care outcomes
  • Facilitating the sharing of multiple viewpoints while recognizing, respecting and valuing differing viewpoints
  • Demonstrating thought leadership in and executing of innovative programs to improve the quality of care, appropriate access and utilization of healthcare and containment of medical costs and moderate medical trends
  • Performing concurrent review for key clinical quality/patient safety indicators and associated documentation; identifying problems and potential problems with initiation of problem solving with clinical care-givers
  • Working closely with CIA and other system leadership to establish Quality and Safety Goals that are directly aligned and integrated with the mission and vision of Norton Healthcare
  • Assisting with the evaluation of nursing intervention impact on patient population outcomes using a scientific approach
  • Maintaining and obtaining knowledge independently, and bases decisions on current clinical practice guidelines, trends, research, data, regulatory standards, legislation and developments in patient care
  • Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of current clinical practice guidelines, professional nursing standards, regulatory/accreditation requirements, state licensure laws, national clinical quality benchmarks and organization policies/procedures; and applying this knowledge and understanding to the evaluation of patient care delivery

Qualifications

Required:
  • Three years in process improvement or quality management and three years clinical experience in an acute care setting
  • Master Degree
  • Registered Nurse (KY)
