Sacoma is currently hiring for a Team Leader for our CNC Press Brake and Laser fabrication area on second shift. The Team Lead is responsible for the safe operation, quality of product, timely completion of products and organization of their area. Team Leaders will take an active role in making sure up time is maximized in their area, and team members have everything they need for success. The Team Lead could be needed to operate the CNC Press Brake at times, train new team members and assist with operation and training of 2d lasers. Training is provided for the equipment, but you should have a foundational knowledge of computer numerical control equipment.


Below is a list of functions and requirements of the role. This is not a comprehensive list, but an example of the actions required for success.


Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for safe, timely and quality production of products.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing for assigned area(s)
  • Troubleshoot problems on equipment and assist operators to resolve.
  • Able to set up and operate equipment.
  • Perform the necessary material handling operation for material and steel.
  • Assist the department Manager to manage personnel to meet department objectives.
  • Train and work with new associates to meet department goals.
  • Thoroughly understand the technology of machine operations.
  • Fill in for operators when absent, on break, lunch, etc. to keep machines running.
  • Maintain necessary operational and quality records; consistently complete required paperwork, timesheets, etc.
  • Set-up tooling and Program Press Brake per Customer CAD Data
  • Component inventory checks for Press Brake.
  • Work from blueprints, drawings to meet customer specifications and tolerances.
  • Trouble shoot machine and adjust the functions and settings of machines.
  • Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines.
  • Perform preventative and regular maintenance on press to ensure that their operational life is extended.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Compile with OSHA and MDSD Standards.
Requirements:

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.
  • Experience in press brake programming, operations, and changeovers.
  • Experience with 2d Laser programming, operations, and changeovers.
  • Hands on mechanical skills
  • Experience using height gages and calipers.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired
  • Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have regular attendance as well as willingness and ability to work overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.
