TAX MANAGER POSITION SUMMARY: As a Tax Manager at Brixey & Meyer, you'll work with a diverse range of clients across various industries and tax structures, offering consulting, tax preparation, and planning services. You'll play a key role in training our internal team and nurturing client relationships, all while being adaptable to new challenges as they arise.
TAX MANAGER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide tax advice and handle routine client matters
- Review and sign off on corporate, partnership/LLC, fiduciary, individual, and non-profit tax returns
- Work with family-owned businesses on year-end tax planning
- Manage state income tax matters and understand corporate tax issues
- Conduct research and document various tax matters
- Lead and manage both internal team members and external client relationships
- Develop new client relationships and bring in new business to the firm
- Understand ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes
- Participate in Firm committees and activities
- Promote the Firm positively in the community and through professional organizations involvement
- Perform other duties as assigned
TAX MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of public accounting or equivalent industry experience
- CPA certification in good standing or EA in good standing
- Advanced computer literacy, including proficient use of all Microsoft Office products
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Demonstrated client relationship management skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Provides team-members with timely, accurate, and constructive feedback regarding performance
