QA TECH - RETAIL A (12 HOUR SHIFTS) Mon- Wed 6:30am-7:30pm


SUMMARY: The QA Technician is responsible for monitoring specified areas such as HACCP, GMP, SSOP, customer specifications, FSIS regulatory requirements and others. Technician takes a proactive approach to assist management in the prevention of problems or correction of process deficiencies.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Inspects products at various stages of the production process in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Performs analytical test on samples as well as calculations to measure factors and tests product to verify factors
  • Prepares quality documentation and data summarization reports using computers, paper or other means
  • Actively and effectively communicate with various plant personnel to ensure product problems are prevented
  • Calibrates all instruments per plant procedures at the required frequency
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance and job performance in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Other duties are performed as assigned by the Supervisor


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Read and write English
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Previous poultry or meat processing experience preferred

PHYSICAL and WORK ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Use hands/wrists to pick up samples up to 40 lbs and perform evaluations
  • Cold, damp wet environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees
  • Work while wearing and utilizing required PPE
  • Stand for 2-3 hour intervals, at least 8 hours per day
  • Exposure to varying noise levels
  • Bend, stoop and lift various weights as needed
  • Climb stairs, frequently stoop, kneel, and/or bend
