We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our client's team as a Forensic Mechanical Engineer in the Columbus area. As a Forensic Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for investigating and analyzing mechanical systems, identifying the root causes of failures, and providing expert insights. The successful candidate must possess extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Ohio.
Forensic Mechanical Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical MEP System Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations into mechanical systems, machinery, and components to determine the causes of failures or malfunctions. Apply your in-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering to assess the condition of systems and provide comprehensive reports.
- Forensic Investigation: Utilize forensic engineering techniques to examine the circumstances surrounding mechanical incidents. This may involve analyzing components, reviewing maintenance records, and conducting tests to reconstruct events accurately.
- Collaboration: Work closely with insurance professionals, legal teams, and other engineering disciplines to communicate findings effectively. Collaborate with experts in related fields to ensure a holistic understanding of complex incidents.
- Client Consultation: Provide expert advice to clients on mechanical system maintenance, compliance with safety standards, and recommended improvements. Communicate complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
- PE License Requirement: Possess and maintain a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Ohio, demonstrating a commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of mechanical engineer experience with extensive knowledge of mechanical MEP systems
- Previous experience in forensic mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, legal professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Ohio.
