We are currently looking for an Accounting Associate to join our team and help with various duties in our accounting department. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess a problem-solving attitude. 

 

Some of the responsibilities of this position include:

- Processing weekly payroll, ensuring proper rates/job classifications are used

- Entering weekly Payroll ACH and transfers through online banking

- Filing and paying weekly Federal and State payroll taxes

- Assisting new hires with completing necessary paperwork

- Communicating with new hires the benefits that we offer and processing enrollments in the chosen plans

- Answering incoming calls from employees with questions about payroll

- Managing Accounts Payable Email and print incoming invoices

- Reviewing and processing Subcontractor and Vendor invoices for accuracy and confirming proper backup is attached and the correct job is charged

- Obtaining proper approvals of all incoming invoices

- Interacting with vendors and Project Managers regarding invoice issues and payments

- Processing AP checks and managing the lien waiver process

- Managing any special payment terms/joint check agreements

- Reconciling monthly vendor statements

 

Requirements:

- 2+ years of proven experience as an Accounting Professional in a similar role

- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and procedures

- Proficiency in using accounting software, MS Office and Excel, Adobe, 10 key typing, and general computer skills

- Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail

- Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll, taxes, benefits, and job costing

- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

- Experience with construction bookkeeping using QuickBooks Desktop is desirable but not required.
