SALARY:

$73,682 - $93,031 (Orange County)

$75,432 - $94,781 (Rockland County)

OTHER: *Please note, the posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for ISU Grade 20 ($72,032), along with any special salary treatments in effect for this position in this location, such as Downstate Adjustment ($3,400) for Rockland County or Mid-Hudson Adjustment ($1,650) for Orange County. The posted maximum salary (Job Rate $91,381) includes the previously stated adjustments.

SHIFT/PASS DAYS: Mon. – Fri. 9:00AM – 5:30PM / Saturday & Sunday

TRAVEL: Travel within Region 4 may be required and therefore must possess a valid driver’s license.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Licensed Master Social Worker 2 (LMSW2) will provide supervisory oversight to the Hudson Valley Family Care program to ensure that programmatic measures are met.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Licensed Master Social Worker 2 (LMSW 2) report to the Family Care Treatment Team Leader and will be responsible for the following:

  • Monthly FC Supervisory reviews to ensure that Home Liaison are meeting the FC policies and regulatory standards.
  • Assume responsibility of new FC homes to train new providers during their first year as a provider as per Family Care policy.
  • The LMSW 2 will provide Mandatory American Heart Association First Aid and CPR training to Family Care and Respite Providers in the 4 counties. (Orange, Rockland, Sullivan, and Westchester)
  • The LMSW 2 will be responsible for providing directions to the FCHL/Family Care Home Liaison.
  • The LMSW 2 would be responsible for ensuring that the team and FCP adhere to the FC manual & OPWDD guidelines. This is completed by ensuring that FC Recertification, validation, unannounced visits are completed and attendance at Special ITT's.
  • The LMSW 2 is responsible for ensuring that the safety and health of the individuals are maintained in the Family Care Home by completing health and safety priority visits (suspension, emergency respite, criminal background issues).
  • The LMSW 2 will complete Plan of Correction verification visits to ensure that deficiencies are completed.
  • The LMSW 2 will ensure that safety and health issues are immediately address and the required follow up is completed. Additionally, it is the responsibility of the LMSW 2 to ensure that communication occurs in an effective manner between the Family Care Team, and Leadership regarding Health and Safety issues.
  • The LMSW 2 ensures that the team members are adhering to the family care policies relative to health and safety of the Individual while providing visits to the FCH’s.
  • The LMSW 2 will do heightened oversight visits in homes that are not in compliance with family care standards.
  • The LMSW 2 will be involved in special Family Care committees. (Advisory, Administration, Appreciation)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title.

Current permanent status as a Licensed Master Social Worker 2 and qualified for lateral transfer ~OR~ Eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

For permanent, non-competitive appointment under the Civil Service Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program, candidate must be licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Registration and licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor is not considered qualifying. ** Professional social work experience involves activities such as screening, assessing and diagnosing individuals' and families' psychosocial needs, strengths and limitations; participating in the development of treatment plans and discharge plans; counseling and educating individuals, groups and families to promote mental, emotional, physical and social functioning; helping access needed services; providing client/patient advocacy and crisis intervention; and developing, coordinating and evaluating services and support systems. Experience limited to social work research or social work administration is NOT considered qualifying.

Continued employment as a Licensed Master Social Worker 1 or 2 is dependent upon current licensure and registration by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Loss of licensure or registration may result in removal from employment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT:

1. Background Investigation/Justice Center Review: The names of all prospective employees will be:

  • Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s);
  • Investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC). All convictions must be reported. Conviction of a felony or misdemeanor or any falsified or omitted information may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment. Each case will be determined on its own merits, consistent with the applicable provisions of state and federal laws, and may be:
  • Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees whose names appear on the SCR may be barred from appointment.

You will be responsible for payment of all required fees.

2. Medicaid and Medicare: In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). If you are appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program), you may be terminated from your employment.

3. If appointed, you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide to your employer a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPES); and otherwise actively participate to the degree necessary to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicaid and Medicare, you may be terminated from your employment.

4. Credentials will be reviewed at the time of interview. All statements made on the application are subject to investigation.

5. Continued employment as a Licensed Master Social Worker 1 is dependent upon current licensure and registration by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Loss of licensure or registration may result in removal from employment.

6. Appropriate part-time and volunteer experience, which can be verified, will be accepted on a prorated basis.

7. New York State residence is not required.
