As the Director of Engineering for Operio Group, you will play a pivotal role in driving the design, development, and manufacturing of our industry-leading machinery. You will lead and inspire teams of highly capable Mechanical, Electrical, and Design engineers across offices in the United States and Taiwan, ensuring they collaborate effectively to achieve product excellence and operational efficiency.

The Director of Engineering will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Provide visionary leadership to a geographically dispersed team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Develop and mentor team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Ensure efficient communication and collaboration among the different engineering disciplines and the other cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee the design and development of tablet press and capsule-filling machines, ensuring they meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
  • Drive product innovation, continually improving machine performance, reliability, and user-friendliness.
  • Lead product development projects from concept through manufacturing and post-launch support.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes and drive cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure quality control and testing procedures are in place to maintain product excellence.
  • Collaborate with international offices, particularly in Taiwan, to leverage local expertise and resources for engineering and manufacturing activities.
  • Foster a global perspective in product design and development, considering the unique needs and requirements of different markets.
  • Contribute to the development of the company's long-term engineering and product development strategy.
  • Prioritize projects and reduce conflicting customer requests across multiple divisions.
  • Define and execute departmental goals and objectives that align with the company's mission and vision.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards, ensuring all products meet necessary compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with regulatory affairs teams to facilitate product approvals and certifications.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of hands-on electrical and mechanical engineering experience and 5+ years of engineering leadership experience in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Strong background in the design and development of related machinery, in terms of function and complexity
  • Familiarity with international manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a track record of delivering products on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strategic thinking and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Motivated leader with a passion for creating innovative solutions and helping drive
  • Project Management Professional certification is a plus.

Pay: $160,000 - $180,000 based on your education, skills, and experience.
