This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic educator to make a meaningful impact on students' lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned unit and lesson plans: to support scholars in achieving proficiency in MLS and NGSS standards for Chemistry.
  • Facilitate high-quality science instruction using a variety of methods, including technology, labs, personalized learning, and project-based learning, to enhance scholars' understanding and interest in Chemistry.
  • Cultivate a positive classroom culture that promotes rigor and enthusiasm for learning Chemistry among scholars.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support school-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.

Additional Responsibilities:

In addition to role-specific responsibilities, all staff at Kairos "coach" a "pod" of students. Coaching involves checking-in with students 2-3 times throughout the week for 10-15 minutes and updating parents regularly on student progress. Coaches mentor students on executive functioning and social-emotional skills such as setting achievable goals, keeping a to-do list, and navigating the highs and lows of school.
