Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Join our dynamic team as a Maintenance Technician, where your skills will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our manufacturing facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for a range of essential duties, contributing to the overall efficiency of our plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Troubleshooting and Repair:

  • Diagnose and repair various plant equipment, including but not limited to overhead cranes/hoists, motors, gearboxes, forklifts, pumps, and air compressors.

• Welding Expertise:

  • Utilize welding skills to fabricate and repair fixtures, baskets, and racks essential for the handling and conveyance of products through the galvanizing process.

• Specialized Machine Operation:

  • Handle the loading, unloading, and operation of an MZR (Zinc recovery) machine.

• Filter Press Maintenance:

  • Maintain the pre-flux filter press process, ensuring optimal performance. This includes regular cleaning of filter screens and proficient operation of controls.

Qualifications:

• Welding Proficiency:

  • Demonstrated welding skills with 2-5 years of practical experience. While a certificate is not mandatory, your hands-on expertise in welding will be crucial.

• Mechanical Aptitude:

  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude coupled with electrical troubleshooting skills.

• Self-Motivation:

  • Be a self-motivated individual capable of working independently to meet objectives.

• Equipment Operation:

  • Ability to operate man lifts and work comfortably at heights up to approx. 25-30ft. Prior experience with forklift operation is a definite plus.

Collaborative Work Environment:

The Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, receiving daily and weekly project assignments. While autonomy is encouraged, collaboration with the shift Lead Person or shift supervisor during manufacturing downtime situations is expected.
