Q Center is looking for a Senior Hotel Sales Manager to join our team!

Job Summary

The Senior Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for strategizing, uncovering, building and growing undeveloped business, accounts and assigned markets for the property while simultaneously reducing client turnover. This position will be required to collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing, researching and developing target action plans on business opportunities. They will be responsible for all activities to penetrate these target accounts, markets and bookings; up to and including: solicitation calls, traces, follow ups and email communication. This position will work closely with the sales team to communicate progress, next steps and leads.

This position is on-site, with a varying schedule that includes, days, afternoons, some evenings, and some weekends.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years’ of progressive hotel sales experience or a 4 year college degree and at least 2 year of related experience or a 2 year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be skilled in Windows, Delphi, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing.

Physical Requirements

  • Flexible, weekends and long hours sometimes required.
  • Light work - Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Fundamental Requirements

  • Associate must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests and fellow associates.
  • Maximize financial performance while upholding quality standards and maximizing levels of associate and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage budget, forecast, expense, records, and contracts.
  • Operate all aspects of the department computer system, including software maintenance, report generation and analysis, and simple programming.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities by searching industry and related events, publications and announcements.
  • Focus efforts and primary attention to historic property Lost and Turned Down business.
  • Review and build action plans from reader board information/target market (shift share).
  • Communicate all marketing/promotional specials with target accounts.
  • Build strategic business development plans quarterly/annually.
  • Report out progress, findings and potential leads with sales team.
  • Develop, implement and constantly modify sales actions plans to meet and/or exceed month/annual sales activity and volume goals.
  • Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments, i.e. department events, trade shows, sales blitzes, etc.
  • Attend conferences and professional association meetings and promote property, highlighting key features and benefits.
  • Organization within business plan, strategies, time management, etc.
  • Able to work efficiently through all market types.
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities.
  • Contact potential clients through cold calls and emails.
  • Continue to maintain, cultivate and grow key accounts and keeper accounts.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of operations of the property, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations.
  • Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and Standard Operating Procedures, and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team.
  • Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the property with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits.
  • Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.
  • Assist in developing strategies to increase share from competitors when the property revenue penetration goals are not being met.
