Job Title: Unit Clerk #230

Reports To: Director of Nursing

Job Summary:

Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility is looking for a Full Time Unit Clerk. The Unit Clerk supports the nursing staff by performing clerical duties which may include but is not limited to: greeting patients and visitors, answering the telephone, delivering messages, making charts, coordinating and organizing transfer paperwork and assisting with patient care (i.e. making appointments, calling providers, assisting with prior authorizations)

• Effectively provides Person Centered care and services

Job Responsibilities:

1. Supports nursing and interdisciplinary team with the function of the unit. Notifying other departments as necessary (i.e. maintenance, housekeeping, dietary, security).

1. Performs clerical duties such as ordering supplies for the department

1. Assists with transporting patients to other departments.

1. Coordinates follow-up care for patients/residents.

1. Answers call bells

1. Coordinates bed assignments with staff.

1. Participates in unit councils and staff meetings including organization required education within stated timeframe

1. Documents appropriately and thoroughly in EMR/Point Click Care.
2. Maintains adequate quantity of forms, materials, supplies and equipment inventory on the SNF units.

1. Performs other job related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience: Prior patient care and customer service experience preferred, clerical experience recommended
• Licensure: N/A
• Certification: As required for your care area. May include: CPR/BLS
• Physical Requirements: May require lifting (up to 50 lbs.), may require sitting or standing for long periods. Must be able to physically operate the equipment required for the job.
