PLANK HOUSE RESTAURANT HOST/HOSTESS
BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):
To provide excellent service to the guests of TMCH, and assist the Restaurant Supervisor in the managing of the service staff of the Plankhouse Restaurant.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee.
- To keep the Mill Casino clean.
- Responsible for maintaining acceptable levels of guest service and satisfaction.
- Responsible for guest interaction, i.e., greeting, seating, making the guest feel at ease.
- Must be aware of all daily food specials, as well as beer and wine specials.
- Answer telephone calls with the correct telephone etiquette.
- Assign floor assignments, making sure all servers are accounted for and on time.(if no lead)
- Coordinate breaks with the staff.
- Interact with customers on the floor frequently, making sure service is satisfactory.
- Responsible for cashiering and must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the Micros system.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Must have a valid OLCC permit.
- Must be flexible in schedule.
- Ability to answer telephone with proper etiquette.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Must meet dress standards as required at all times.
- Must meet health and sanitation standards at all times.
- Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT (the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally sit. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
