About Hospice of Wichita Falls

For over 37 years, Hospice of Wichita Falls has been the only non-profit community-based hospice in the area, providing services in 12 North Texas counties. Our wonderful nursing staff meets our patients and families where they are, in private homes, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and our free standing 12 bed inpatient center. Your life as a In-Patient Registered Nurse

Your role is very important to our patients and the organization. We meet our patients where they are and this position will serve our patients in Wichita, Archer, Clay, Jack Montague and Young counties. We will rely on you to ensure that we support our staff in making sure that the patient and family feel welcomed and at home in our Center. We work as a team so there will be a need to interact with other members of our team by performing assessments of the patient and family upon admission. You will incorporate the data into the Comprehensive Plan of Care and update as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to be self-directed and function independently and demonstrate leadership ability.
  • Ability to understand the physical, psychosocial and spiritual concerns/problems of terminally ill patients in the home setting.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate understanding of and ability to educate on disease process and expected changes.
  • Ability to relate well with patients, families, community at large, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to be at work as scheduled and alert/awake.
  • Ability to advance in computer knowledge.
  • Demonstrates competency as defined.
  • Ability to oversee, educate and direct other team members in a positive manner.
