CDL Driver (Local) / Shop Laborer

Position Overview:

Biancofiori Masonry is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a CDL Driver (Local) / Shop Laborer for the Lafayette, IN area. The ideal candidate will transport and unload / load material and equipment to job sites and assist in various tasks within our shop environment contributing to the smooth operation of daily activities. This role requires someone who is physically fit, detail-oriented, capable of performing repetitive tasks efficiently, and has a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).

Responsibilities:

1. CDL / Driver Responsibilities: Operate company vehicles (some requiring a CDL), such as trucks or vans, to mobilize material and equipment to various job sites daily.
2. Material Handling: Assist in loading and unloading materials, supplies, and equipment. Operate forklifts / telehandlers, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely and efficiently. Training available.
3. General Assistance: Provide support to job sites and shop by performing tasks such as lifting, moving, and organizing materials and equipment.
4. Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the shop area clean and organized, including sweeping, mopping, and maintaining a tidy workspace. Assist in maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition.
5. Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control by counting, stocking, and organizing materials. Keep accurate records of inventory levels and report any discrepancies.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or concerns to management promptly.
7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to complete tasks efficiently and meet deadlines. Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to ensure smooth workflow.
8. Other Duties: Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the overall operation of the organization.

Qualifications:

• CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with a clean driving record and experience operating commercial vehicles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar role or industry preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Basic math skills for inventory management and measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
• Forklift / Telehandler certification (or willingness to obtain certification).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a noisy and sometimes dusty environment.
• Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely with proper training.

Work Environment:

• The work environment may include exposure to various weather conditions and temperatures.
• May require working with heights.
• Protective gear such as hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and boots may be required.

Schedule
