N.E.W. Community Clinic's mission is to provide access to quality, comprehensive, and compassionate healthcare for the underserved in our community. We provide healthcare services including medical, dental, mental healthcare, WIC, and community outreach services to anyone in our community who may be living in poverty or who may be underserved. We take care of people regardless of the ability to pay.


N.E.W. Community Clinic has two dental clinics, three medical clinics, two WIC locations, and a behavior health clinic in Green Bay, and we are seeking an experienced and empathetic WIC Receptionist to join our enthusiastic team.

Position Summary:

The WIC Receptionist performs a variety of secretarial and administrative duties and provides a positive customer service experience. The WIC Receptionist works with the team to help provide patients with the highest standards of care.

Essential Functions of the Job: [Other duties may be assigned.]

  • Attend staff and state WIC meetings.
  • Translate for the nutritionist and clerks as needed.
  • Write pamphlets and newsletters as directed by nutritionist.
  • Distributing eWIC cards including activating cards and loading benefits.
  • Performing tasks in compliance with Federal Regulations.
  • Determine income qualifications for participant eligibility.
  • Voiding of benefits according to regulations.
  • Informing clients of what will take place during appointment.
  • General clerical duties (i.e., answering phone and filing).
  • Entering client information into computer.
  • Reminding clients of benefit pick-up dates and dates of future appointments.
  • Referring clients to appropriate agencies for assistance.
  • Health screening as necessary.
  • Informing clients of future sessions and other appropriate follow up.
  • Hand out Farmer's Market checks.
  • Performing all functions as related to ROSIE software system.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Printing of reports and other electronic clerical duties.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proficient in office procedure, medical records keeping, filing, and Keyboarding is a plus.
  • Expertise: Demonstrate ability to work well with a variety of people and lifestyles. Is able to communicate effectively with clients, staff, volunteers, and supervisor regarding client's problems.
  • Language: Bilingual in languages to fit clinic needs with the ability to comprehend and use both languages fluently in written or spoken formats to communicate information and ideals.
  • Hours of Work: May vary based on Organizational need.
  • Travel: May vary based on Organizational need.
