About the Role

Working as a Maintenance Technician at Intech will give you the opportunity to work with and on state of the art CNC machinery (turning, milling, swiss) that produces complex spinal and orthopedic instruments, that improve the lives of patients around the world! Through collaboration with your fellow technicians, machinists, operators, lead and manager your primary role is to coordinate, direct and perform activities to maintain CNC and secondary equipment, building and grounds efficiently and safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintenance, repair, and installation of all plant operating equipment and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings and testing equipment.
  • Repair machines, equipment or structures using various types of equipment and tools quickly and efficiently to minimize production down time.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as inspecting drives, motors or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters and performing other preventative maintenance actions.
  • Inspect, operate or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Dismantle machines, equipment or devices to access and remove defective parts using various types of equipment and tools.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical and other problems and determine how to correct them.
  • Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals or schematic diagrams.
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery or equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears or other part of machinery.
  • Responsible for electrical, heating and cooling systems and maintaining all aspects of the physical plant.
  • Responsible for groundskeeping services including snow/ice removal.
  • Receive quotes for necessary services from outside contractors.
  • Coordinate, schedule and direct services of maintenance contractors.
  • Perform PMs, and verify paperwork is correctly filled out and submitted.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC)/automation, industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, plant maintenance systems and troubleshooting required.
  • Advanced technical skills in machinery maintenance and repair.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Prior experience working with contractors.
  • Ability to take control of situations and follow them through to a successful end result.
  • Forklift and Aerial lift experience.
  • Experience in ISO/FDA environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of CNC equipment and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control.
  • Ability to be highly accurate with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions.
  • Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, handle stressful situations, multitask and ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively, professionally and constructively.
  • Must be available for after hours phone calls or emergency maintenance situations.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Job Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • CNC Machine maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma, GED, Trade School or equivalent work experience.
  • Machine operation experience a plus, preferably in a Mazak environment.
