WHAT YOU'LL DO

Dress wardrobe/hair in assigned track for a show. Assist the costume shop and craft department in the realization of assigned projects as assigned. Assist with costume rentals, strike, and restocking in costume stock.

MINIMUM/CORE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiarity of costume construction and maintenance. Ability to stitch, alter, quick-rig, and maintain costumes of all styles. Basic wig maintenance and styling. Understanding of costume periods for maintenance of storage.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Machine and hand sewing. Costume laundry, maintenance, and repair. Be able to run wardrobe and hair tracks for performances. Basic hair maintenance.

KEY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Running wardrobe/hair tracks for all shows as assigned in the season.
  • Execute basic maintenance including steaming, ironing/pressing, and laundry both pre- and post-show.
  • Recognize and execute repairs of costumes and shoes based on the needs of individual shows.
  • Execute presets for show call.
  • Assist actors with their costumes and hair during half hour, in performance (including quick changes)
  • Assist with dressing actors for photo calls and press calls.
  • Assist with alterations and dressing for understudies and swings.
  • Facilitate show dry cleaning.
  • Submit updates to paperwork tracks to Wardrobe Supervisor throughout technical rehearsals.
  • Assist with load-ins of show as directed by management.
  • Assist with costume strike and pack-outs/restocking.
  • Assist with cataloging and packing up of and processing rental restocking.
  • Styling and wig maintenance for shows as assigned.
  • Construction on costumes as directed by draper.
  • Machine, finish, and quick rig work on all costumes assigned.
  • Routine clean- up of Costume Shop area.
  • General stock maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Costume Director/ Associate Costume Director.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS UTILIZED- Word, PowerPoint, Excel, minimal knowledge of Photoshop, Dropbox
