Summary: Continuous Improvement Sanitation Manager is responsible for helping the Director of Food Safety & Quality plan and execute the Sanitation Program at our Junction City Location. This role's main area of focus is our plant sanitation processes, sanitation program, environmental monitoring & chemical control programs. The primary focus of this role is Continuous Improvement additional training of processes and programs can be provided for the right candidate.

Description:

  1. Develop and optimize the sanitation program using appropriate Continuous Improvement techniques.
  2. Lead, plan, and monitor activities of the Sanitation Team.
  3. Investigate the best cleaning tools for the job.
  4. Work closely with production to ensure cleaning efficiency and first pass yield for cleaning.
  5. Maintain, update, and continuously improve the Master Sanitation list.
  6. Manage the chemical control program.
  7. Participation with Food Safety Team
  8. Assess sanitation shift specific needs.
  9. Hands on work with the production team to implement and train on cleaning procedures.
  10. Analyzes, maintains, and improves sanitation performance.
  11. Develops strategies to reduce low value activities and ensure continuous improvement.
  12. Identifies area of improvement within an organization's processes, systems, and procedures
  13. 3rd party audit participation
  14. Work with engineering to develop safe cleaning practices on new equipment.

Essential qualifications:

  1. Manufacturing experience.
  2. Strong, people management, problem solving, negotiation and decision-making skills.
  3. Mechanical and technical aptitude with ability to use and learn new systems, programs, and tools.
  4. 3 years of Continuous Improvement experience
  5. Critical thinking skills with ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  6. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime weekend and holidays.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Food manufacturing experience
  2. Knowledge of GMPs
  3. PCQI Certified
  4. Sanitation program experience

Physical demands:

  1. Standing and walking up to 8 hours
  2. Lift and carry 25-50 lbs.
  3. Able continuously bend, stoop twist use arms wrists and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout the shift.
  4. Ability to kneel reach above shoulder work and heights and climb steps with components weighing 25-50 lbs.
