Construction Mechanic

Founded in 2007, JL Construction Corp is a heavy civil excavation contracting firm located in West Springfield MA who specializes in excavation, infrastructure, streetscape, site and park development utilizing state of the art technology and equipment. Full service commercial snow removal is also provided during the winter months. As a small company, we are able to offer personal attention to customers. QUALIFICATIONS FOR SHOP MANAGER/MECHANIC

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• OSHA 10 Certification
• 3+years of relevant experience as a mechanic/shop manager
• Valid Drivers License
• Hoisting and CDL License preferred but not mandatory
• Must be punctual, reliable and possess excellent work ethic
• Willingness to travel locally to various job sites as needed
• Maintain a neat and clean yard at all times.
  
• Maintain equipment/fleet maintenance/repair logs
  
• Work with the Superintendent to track and manage inventory of all construction materials and supplies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Intermediate mechanical/diagnostic skills
• Basic understanding of construction procedures, OSHA guidelines and construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
• Able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
• Must have reliable transportation with the ability to travel
• Must have the ability to work extended hours as required by the workload

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time position typically works days, Monday - Friday and occasional weekends.
