The Batcher ensures the production batches of raw materials are available for each production room as required on the plant production schedule. The Batcher secures raw ingredients and prepares the batches for the production room in a timely and accurately manner.          


Key Responsibilities:


Assists the Production Coordinator and Production Dispatcher in carrying out the daily operations of the facility by performing the following duties.  The individual performs daily job responsibilities following GMP guidelines and practices


Duties and Day-to-Day Responsibilities, but not limited to the following:

  • Reads work order or formula on ticket to determine types and quantities of materials to assemble.
  • Places loose or packaged materials on scales and adds or removes portions of material to obtain required weight.
  • Records weight of materials used for each ticket, or maintains perpetual inventory of materials used and on hand.
  • Transfers weighed materials to production rooms or to designated storage areas.
  • Responsible for the quality of the batches going to the production rooms.
  • Performs housekeeping in assigned area. Maintains work area in a clean and safe condition.
  • Observes all safety rules and regulations for self and others. Ensure 100% compliance with required plant training programs and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Training, Education, and Experience Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A working knowledge of food plant operation, sanitation, and environmental issues is desired.
  • Excellent math skills.  Test will be given during the interview process.
