SUMMARY

Manages general maintenance schedule and daily activity. This position will train on 1st shift approximately four months before moving to 3rd shift.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Determines the annual and future targets for department.
  • Determines annual and monthly activity plans based on targets.
  • Makes and controls departmental budget.
  • Controls department workload.
  • Maintains sales activity.
  • Develops and maintains training program for general maintenance team members.
  • Controls the schedules for general maintenance and preventative maintenance.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages members in the general maintenance Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include Interviewing, Hiring, and Training Members; Planning, Assigning, and Directing work; Appraising Performance; Rewarding and Disciplining members.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university, or seven (7) to ten (10) years related experience and high school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the member is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The member frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The member is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the member is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
