SUMMARY  

Performs data entry functions in accounts receivable system. Operates multi-line telephone console for incoming calls. Receives visitors at establishment, determines nature of business, and directs visitor to destination by performing the following duties. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

  • Adheres to agency policy and procedures, CARF and DMHSAS standards and criteria, federal and state confidentiality rules and regulations, and any special funding source requirements. 
  • Supports and promotes a service environment for individuals in need of behavioral health and/or co-occurring services that are recovery focused, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of individuals who may have experienced trauma in their lives.  Attends annual core competencies training in relationship to individuals with co-occurring disorders or who have experienced trauma in their lives. 
  • Verifies data on source documents for completeness and accuracy. 
  • Codes superbills using service sheets and sorts source documents for data entry.  
  • Performs accurate data entry functions in accounts receivable system and/or DMHSAS data collection system meeting closing time lines determined by the system. 
  • Operates a multi-line telephone console receiving incoming calls. Routes call to appropriate destination or takes call message. Greets visitors to agency and obtains name and arranges for appointment with person called upon. Directs visitors to destination and records name, time of call, nature of business, and person called upon. 
  • May complete financial agreements with clients, as assigned by supervisor, and obtain copy of insurance card or other evidence of third-party coverage. 
  • Answers inquiries. 
  • Prepares superbills for client services from appointment schedule or from daily service sheets. 
  • May collect fees for services provided and issues receipt in accordance with established procedures.  
  • May schedules future appointments and answers inquiries.  
  • Travel may be required. 
  • Reimbursement for use of personal vehicle will be made in accordance with agency policy and procedures. 
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Required to obtain First Aid and CPR certification and maintain thereafter. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS  

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

 

REASONING ABILITY  

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
