We are an CAH (Critical Access Hospital) with 17 beds (14 Acute/Med Surg/Swing Bed...... 3 Covid negative pressure rooms).
We do not deliver babies here, so no OB experience is necessary.
We would be interested in either a new grad for Staff RN or an experience RN for Charge RN

JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY: Utilizes assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation in providing comprehensive and competent patient care. Provides effective interaction with patients, family members and staff, and coordinates interdepartmental patient care activities while maintaining nursing standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• Current license in State of Nebraska
• BLS, ACLS, NRP Certification Required

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of patient care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care to achieve prioritized patient outcomes.
• Performs complete admission assessment, including full body system analysis and home med reconciliation process for med-surgical, obstetrical, newborn, pediatric, ER and outpatients.
• Performs hourly patient rounding for all patient assignments.
• Performs patient/family teaching for assessed knowledge deficits.
• Evaluates patient progress toward desired outcomes prior to discharge.
• Demonstrates personal accountability in the delivery of patient care in a competent, professional and compassionate manner.
2. Performs and maintains documentation.
• Documents accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status that reflect nursing interventions, patient responses, patient teaching and status of outcomes at discharge.
• Completes shift end check with another nurse prior to leaving duty.
3. Communicates effectively.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with other health team members regarding patient condition, nursing plan of care, patient satisfactions needs and recommendations for meeting identified outcomes.
• Follows approved shift report format when communicating patient information.
• Identifies and recognizes abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition, established priorities, and takes appropriate action. Appropriately reports condition changes to medical provider.
4. Promotes and ensures patient safety in performance of all responsibilities.
• Administers medications, treatments and procedures in a timely and safe manner according to physician orders and nursing policy, (including appropriate performance of standard precautions, using two patient identifiers, and performing patient risk assessments).
• Demonstrates proficient technical/clinical skills and operational knowledge of equipment on unit.
• Informs and involves manager regarding patient care issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Utilizes proper body mechanics, transfer/lifting techniques and appropriate equipment to minimize fall risk to patient and injury to self.
5. Identifies and participates in JCHC committees, performance improvement and quality initiatives
and other activities which support the health center and department operations.
• Assesses nursing care on unit to identify problems and reports areas for improvement.
• Reports potential or actual system/process concerns and is actively engaged in problem solving for the solutions.
• Incorporates identified PI changes into own practice/performance.
• Maintains knowledge of current nursing practice through reading current journal articles, utilizing hospital resources, attendance at outside training.
• Participates in department meetings and training opportunities to keep informed of changes affecting nursing care.
• Participates on nursing committees or groups as requested.
• Documents and completes annual plan for ongoing professional development.
• Identifies and participates in JCHC committees, performance improvement and quality
6. Identifies and participates in JCHC committees , performance improvement and quality initiatives and other activities which support the health center and department operations.
7. Complies with the state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of JCHC operations and requirements of the JCHC Compliance Program, including but not limited to the Customer Service Standards of Excellence, the Compliance Policy, Safety and Infection Control, all department and organization-wide policies, Critical Access Hospital requirements, and Federal and State of Nebraska regulations.
8. Participates in professional growth and development requirements and opportunities by attending department meetings, participation in required and voluntary educational programs and in-service meetings, including current literature, workshops, and other developmental opportunities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Child, adolescent, adult and geriatric

EHR - Cerner
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Staff RN - we would take a new grad
Charge RN - 3-5 years experience of clinica acute/ER experience
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
Current RN Nebraska license
BLS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
Shift: (3) 12hour shifts per week
Hours: 3pm - 3am
Works every 3rd Weekend and rotating holidays
Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
13-bed Acute Med Surg Skilled Nursing
Emergency Room
We have 3 Covid negative pressure rooms
NO Labor and Deliviery
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
3:1
Dress Code:
Any color of scrub and comfortable skid resistant shoes
