EMPOWER UNIVERSITY LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Thank you for your interest in Empower University, a program dedicated to empowering our future leaders to Create OMG Experiences for our vendors, staff, and our valued guests. Through this program, you will develop leadership and operational skills that will set you apart in your career in Hospitality and Tourism. 


You may register for the program as a current employee or new applicant. Registration will be open at the beginning of each quarter and interviews will be conducted when the application window closes. If you are currently enrolled as a student, please have your advisor contact us in order to discuss internship credit. This program is not currently affiliated with any educational institutions but would be happy to partner with your school to ensure you receive internship credit if applicable.


QUALIFICATIONS

Current Employee 


  • You must be employed with us for at least one calendar year at the time of your application. You may work at multiple locations within this time period but the one year must be consecutive months. 
    • If you are within one month of your one year anniversary when the application is set to close, you may apply.
    • If you have not been with the company for one calendar year, but you meet the new applicant qualifications for experience, you may apply. 
  • Must have a written recommendation from your General Manager or Area Manager detailing why you should be considered for the program.
  • Must submit an application and personal statement (details attached).
  • Must be in good standing at the time of their application including no unexcused absences.
  • Must complete an interview for the program with the Leadership Development Team. 
  • Must be available a minimum of 30 hours per week. 


New Applicants


  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience OR be enrolled in a career technical or traditional college program focusing in one of the following areas:
    • Attractions Operations
    • Attractions Management 
    • Retail Management 
    • Hospitality and Tourism
    • Marketing
    • Human Resources
    • Graphic Design
    • Accounting 
    • IT
    • Retail Merchandising
    • Business Administration or a related field
  • Must have a written recommendation from a previous employer, professional colleague or professor.
  • Must submit an application and personal statement.
  • Must complete an interview for the program. 
  • Must be available a minimum of 30 hours per week. 


If you are not selected for the Leadership Development Program, you may reapply in the following quarter. 


PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Empower U students will begin the program as Ambassadors unless they hold the title of manager at the time of their application. 
    • Current managers may apply to be part of this program in order to better their chances of becoming a GM in the future. 


  • Managers who have been serving at their location as an Assistant Manager, Ambassador, or higher for more than 6 months, may move into the second phase of the program once their application has been approved. If you wish to do this, you must request this change when you complete your application. 
  • Applicants may choose between an 18-Month and 24-Month Program.
