Activity Center Program Coordinator

This human services position earns a competitive salary of $49,068/year. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMUNITY DAY PROGRAM COORDINATOR

As a Community Day Program Coordinator, you lead a team of four or more staff members working in our human services program. The services provided are in a congregate care setting and include personal care, safety, and fun activities. The clients at this program love to be engaged in various activities in the program as well as spending lots of time experiencing adventures outside of the center. You love seeing our clients with disabilities work on and achieve goals! A true leader, you are a source of support for our team members and help them to be the best direct support professionals they can be.

You work hard to ensure day program tasks are being handled appropriately. This position will assist individuals in the program with personal hygiene care and frequent assistance with moving or transfers which includes lifting up to 50 pounds. As someone who teaches staff to better serve individuals with disabilities, you are patient, professional, and kind. Everyone loves having you around! QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COMMUNITY DAY PROGRAM COORDINATOR

• A minimum of 1 year of work experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities: experience with challenging behaviors will be given preference.
• A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a work setting, consisting of: Interviewing and hiring staff, monitoring and evaluating performance, staff training and development, staff discipline and scheduling.
• A minimum of 18 years of age.
• Own personal, reliable transportation.
• Valid driver's license, current motor vehicle insurance, and clean driving record.
• Driving large program buses and vans as well as being willing to train new employees to drive large vehicles.
• Willingness to comply with our company policy regarding background checks and drug screening

SCHEDULE

The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. In addition, flexibility to work outside of the typical schedule will be needed for program and agency events.

Now known as TURN Community Services, we provide resources to more than 850 individuals with developmental disabilities across Utah.
