Job Description

Our Doctor’s Assistants work closely with our medical teams by guiding clients through their visit and helping to establish the foundation for a trusting and empathetic visit. Your responsibilities may include:
- Serve the critical role of being the liaison between doctors, technicians, clients, and patients
- Assist doctors in exam rooms on an as-needed basis
- Organize and track patient diagnostics
- Prepare patient discharge reports and in-hospital updates
- Manage a high call volume, communicating with clients, referring veterinarians, and pharmacies as needed regarding appointments, medical concerns, patient updates, referrals, and prescriptions
- Create and present financial estimates for treatment plans
- Guide clients through the discharge and check out process
- Handle financial transactions, assisting clients with credit applications as needed
- Work closely with our medical teams to ensure a positive outcome at each visit
- Provide daily financial updates to clients for all hospitalized patients, facilitate additional payments as needed
- Maintain the ability to complete, audit and review patient visit lists and invoices
- Review treatment sheets and medical records for accuracy
- Organize/Track patient diagnostic results
- Assist across multiple departments during downtime
- Facilitate client visits
- Record all communications with owners regarding financial matters in the practice management software
- Understand basic pharmacology of commonly-used medications, including calculating, handling, labeling and dispensing.
- Maintain a working knowledge of veterinary medical terms, abbreviations, procedures and conditions
- Must be able to obtain Fear Free Certification within 30 days of eligibility (subject to 90 day orientation period)
Compensation details: 22-27 Hourly Wage
