Primary Responsibility

  • The core objective of this role is to address inquiries from internal and external customers, and assist with resolving balancing issues. Review the daily workflow to ensure adherence to timelines and minimize financial liability and risk. Maintain ongoing communication with the supervisor.
Key Functions & Responsibilities
  • Exercise discretion and interact effectively and positively with personnel at all levels, credit unions, and vendors.
  • Possess manual dexterity for accurate online data entry, filing, and mobility to access data files and image archive records.
  • Complete training for assigned tasks in positions related to Financial Operations functions, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily exception item processing within established timelines (1-2 business days) to limit potential loss of funds due to industry regulations and potential fraudulent use of open balances on credit card accounts.
  • Assume job function responsibilities in the absence of an employee to ensure timely task completion.
  • Assist in researching escalated issues, tracing settlement or balancing discrepancies, and correcting errors with clearing institutions, third-party vendors, and/or credit unions while working with confidential cardholder account information.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of the General Ledger System, third-party vendors, CardPro, and other applicable programs.
  • Remain knowledgeable and cross-functional in all assigned jobs within the settlement area.
  • Communicate professionally with internal departments and staff to resolve settlement issues in credit or debit.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors when working to resolve issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands for fingering, handling, or feeling, and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.

Position Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 (Two) years of accounting or banking-related experience, or working in the credit card industry.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of personal computers with proficiency in MS Windows software, Word, and Excel spreadsheet applications required.
  • Ability to read, understand, and input data utilizing personal computer, telephone, copier, and other general office equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required.
  • Ability to interact with others in a positive and professional manner required.
  • Ability to utilize a 10-key calculator with proficiency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
