We are looking for Staff/Senior Staff Accountant for our GROWING client in the insurance claims industry. Our client is expanding their Accounting and Finance teams, and are looking for someone to work directly with the CFO and Controller to take lead on the company's financial operations. This individual must be self driven, curious, and willing to work with leadership to contribute to the company's overall health and success. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-5pm.

This will be a HYBRID role. MUST reside in the Tampa Bay Area.

Compensation: $70,000-$130,000 (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)

Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of general ledger accounts.
    • Contribute to the development and review of annual budgets and performance projections.
    • Maintain documentation to ensure the company can easily respond to requests by auditors, stakeholders, and government entities.
    • Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations, verify the accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel.
    • Respond to information requests by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and monitor policies and procedures for assigned departments, identifying, and suggesting improvements for accounting reporting and recording procedures.

Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
    • 3+ years of experience in accounting.
    • Working knowledge of GAAP.
    • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
    • Good problem-solving and time-management skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and handle accounting requirements for multiple entities.

Preferred Software Skills:

  • Netsuite
  • Microsoft Excel
