Supplier Quality Engineer II - 366130

MAU is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer II at our client in Greer, SC. As a Supplier Quality Engineer II, you will be an integral part of new production launches, including both supplier and parts development for manufacturing. You will be responsible for approving the new supplier’s quality and production systems to ensure that the client’s purchased parts meet production specifications This is a contract, long-term assignment.

Shift Information

• 1st shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; OR
• Equivalent of 4+ years of professional supplier quality process/components experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
• 6+ years of professional experience (5+ years with a master’s degree) of professional experience in the related part technology and/or processing
• 5+ years of knowledge in advanced quality planning techniques, including PFMEA, control planning, process flow diagramming, process auditing techniques, and PPAP
• 5+ years of knowledge of advanced statistical techniques such as capabilities and standard deviation studies to calculate process variation
• 5+ years of Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Access, Excel, etc.)

Preferred Requirements

• Basic German language skills, both written and verbal

Essential Functions

• Support the Module Quality Engineer(s) in advanced quality planning activities such as risk assessment, product, and process development
• Communicate with other Client plants in the worldwide Client Network, including joint problem-solving
• Execute the process series before Start of Production (SOP) with the suppliers worldwide
• Support launch projects after handover to Supplier Quality Assurance ensuring compliance with Client specifications
• Conduct the Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) releases for assigned products
• Support new and challenging supplier’s quality and production systems
• Review the monthly supplier rating
• Perform product and process audits due to occurred errors and supplier rating results and initiatives counteractions and counteraction verification
• Lead 8D quality problem-solving process for supplier-related issues
• Conduct requalification audits for the quality management system at the supplier(s)
• Validate start-up ability for new parts/processes
• Collaborate on the part approval process for assigned supplier
• Coordinate reduction of supplier-related warranty claims via the Defect Eradication Process
• Participate in internal warranty reduction problem-solving teams regarding purchased parts
• Perform other tasks as assigned
